Prenatal, Maternity and Postpartum Benefits

For pregnant members in fully-insured SHIP and all other applicable plans, Wellfleet covers the following:

  • Prenatal visits
  • Medically necessary diagnostic tests
  • Prenatal education
  • Medically necessary prenatal homemaker services 
  • Hospital length of stay to be determined by the attending health care provider based on clinical information (minimum 2 days for a vaginal delivery, 4 days for a cesarean section)
  • Postpartum care 
  • Medically necessary postpartum homemaker services
  • Contraceptive counseling and referrals
