Springfield, Mass. (February 2, 2021) – Wellfleet is proud to share that its support of the American College Health Foundation’s (ACHF) COVID-19 Response Fund has helped the organization raise more than $28,000.
The effort was part of the American College Health Foundation’s ‘Giving Tuesday’ fundraiser that started in November and ran through December 31, 2020.
The American College Health Foundation supports projects and activities that would not otherwise be funded through traditional revenue sources in the field of college health and the mission of American College Health Association (ACHA).
Wellfleet, one of the nation’s leading student health insurance carriers, pledged to match up to $10,000 to help the foundation serve under-resourced universities in their COVID-19 response efforts.
“We saw first-hand the challenges that the student population faced in 2020,” said Drew DiGiorgio, Wellfleet’s President & CEO. “So, we were thrilled to be able to support the ACHF and the great things they do to improve the health, well-being, and overall success of college students.”
“We are grateful to have industry partners like Wellfleet who are supportive of our mission to promote care for the mental, physical and emotional needs of college students and their healthcare providers during this difficult time,” said ACHF Chair Ralph Manchester.
While struggles remain for the college student population, ACHF and Wellfleet believe that campus health services and their staff members will emerge from this crisis stronger than ever.

About American College Health Foundation (ACHF)
The mission of the American College Health Foundation (ACHF) is to promote, improve, and advance the health, well-being, and overall success of college students. The ACHF will accomplish this mission by funding sustainable college health initiatives and programs, including education, research, advocacy, and professional development in partnership with the American College Health Association and its members.
The foundation’s sole purpose is to support the field of college health and the mission of ACHA. In 1995, ACHF began the process of building an endowment fund, which will provide ACHA with additional support in perpetuity. The foundation supports projects and activities that would not otherwise be funded through traditional revenue sources.
ACHF operations are governed by a board of directors separate from that of the association. Board members are responsible for the financial security of the foundation. They serve on a voluntary basis and are not compensated for expenses incurred in the performance of their duties.
