Wellfleet helps American College Health Foundation reach its ‘Giving Tuesday’ fundraising goal of $25,000

Wellfleet is thrilled to share that its support of the American College Health Foundation’s (ACHF) Giving Tuesday fundraiser helped the organization raise $25,760 in just one week’s time!

Wellfleet pledged to match up to $12,500 to help support the American College Health Foundation’s ‘Giving Tuesday’ fundraiser, a global movement in generosity to transform our communities, which ran from Nov. 23-30.

The American College Health Foundation supports projects and activities that would not otherwise be funded through traditional revenue sources in the field of college health and the mission of American College Health Association (ACHA).

During the COVID-19 pandemic, ACHA has helped over 800 member institutions of higher education through advocacy for the individual and collective physical and mental health of students and college communities. Further support for programs includes:

  • Providing funding directly to health and wellness professionals to support campus programs
  • Supporting students’ college health career ambitions through scholarships
  • Developing resources to benefit students and college health professionals
  • Supporting professional development by sponsoring educational sessions at ACHA’s Annual Meetings

“Colleges and universities are still overcoming the challenges brought on by the pandemic,” said Drew DiGiorgio, Wellfleet’s President & CEO. “We’re proud to support the ACHF and the great things they do to improve the health, well-being, and overall success of college students.”

The COVID-19 pandemic has amplified the need to help support those students who are struggling financially. With help from organizations like the ACHF the college student population is able to receive the critical support they need to thrive.

“We are grateful to have industry partners like Wellfleet that understand the difficulties institutions across the country are experiencing. Their generous match on Giving Tuesday will help promote care for the mental, physical, and emotional needs of college students,” said ACHF Chair Ralph Manchester.
